Fair Harbor RV Park
We are Full Time RVers and I always have a difficult time finding good information on the campgrounds we plan to visit. So I am writing my own reviews. Our first park was Fair Harbor RV. I will include information here that might not be on their website. You can click on their name to see the site. Fair Harbor Rv in Perry Georgia is a beautiful campground. You recieve free cable, about 60 channels, and wifi with your hookups and some sites have instant phone access for an extra few dollars. The wifi was not working all that well when we were there but I do know they were upgrading their system so it might be better now. I'll be totally honest, the owners are not the friendliest guys a lot of the time, but they run a nice park. And the park is so big that unless you plan on spending it IN the office you won't have many dealings with them. There are lots of walking trails and a beautiful little pond. There is a large back section for long term. There are two horseshoe pits that have recently been repainted and fixed up. The bath houses are big and fairly clean. The hot water works well and lasts a long time. Watch out for spiders in them though. Somehow this campground seems to draw to it the best people in the RVing community. Everyone we met who were there camping were so friendly and happy, kind and giving. I would recommend Fair harbor RV for short to medium term stays if you are going to be in the Perry area. The reason I don't recommend it for long term is because you would have to have more interaction with the owners and also you cannot recieve mail there. The downside is Fair Harbor is not very kid friendly. Short term with kids they will get bored fairly easily and long term with kids is nearly impossible. What's Nearby Though Fair Harbor sits back in the quiet of a wooded area, you are very near to town. One exit up there is a Super Wal-mart, many fast food places, and other various stores. Not far from Fair Harbor is the Georgia National Fair Grounds. They almost always have something going on there. Fair Harbor is at exit 135 off I75. If you go north and take exit 146, take a right, and you will find Circuit city, Hobby Lobby, and more. You might also need a laundrymat. Because although Fair Harbor does have laundry facilities the dryers don't work very well. If you find yourself wishing you could find a laudry, here are the directions. Take a left out of fair harbor. Cross the overpass. Go to the stop light and take a left. About a mile down the road or so on the right you will find a Church's Chicken (which I HIGHLY recommend) and just after that on the right is a laundry mat with great machines and good prices. There is also a phone in the laundry room at fair harbor, you need a calling card but it's very convenient.
