Destination Big Cedar Oklahoma
Big Cedar, Oklahoma is a small community located in the Ouchita National Forrest in the Kiamichi River Valley. If you are looking to just get away from it all this is your destination. Big Cedar RV park and cabins is a beautiful little RV park with cabins for rent, tent space, and RV lots. When you awake in the morning you look out upon mountains in every direction. This quiet little destination park has friendly, helpful owners who are willing to assist you in finding hiking trails, ATV trails, or direct you to the scenic views that abound in this area. The park has the community's only laundry mat, so it is well equipped and all the machines work well. They also have a large clean bath house. If you are looking for shops, activities, or social activity this is not the place for you, however if you are seeking the peace and quiet of nature then Big Cedar has that in abundance. Big Cedar is about 35 miles west of Mena Arkansas, where you will find such conveniences as Wal-mart, shops, and restaurants. Big Cedar is 7 miles east of Muse Oklahoma, where you will find a small convenience store, hardware store and the post office. There are a lot of small communites in the area that have different events throughout the year. You might enjoy a Pow-Wow in the spring or the Balloon Festival in the fall. All within 20 - 60 minutes from Big Cedar RV Park. This little known destination park is a treasure. If you find yourself traveling in the direction of Oklahoma or you simply need to rest and rejuvinate, I highly recommend finding this little park and making it a stop on your journey or a vacation in and of itself. |
